- 3rd level degree in finance, mathematics, economics, or a related field.
- Currently completing or interest in completing a professional qualification such as FRM, CFA or CAIA.
- Knowledge of financial modelling and valuation techniques, as well as industry standards and regulations.
- Previous experience in the fund industry, with a focus on risk management, valuations, or investment analysis would be an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with systems such as Bloomberg, MSCI RiskMetrics, Python, Power BI, would be a plus.
- Support the risk management function in ongoing monitoring of risk exposures and compliance restrictions of funds under management to ensure that each continues to be managed in line with investment objectives and policy, risk profile and regulatory restrictions.
- Generate both regular and exception-based risk reporting for both fund boards and the management company that enables each to fulfil their governance obligations related to the risk management of funds under their management.
- Support senior risk team members in query management, both internal and external, participating in regular calls with Investment Managers to review fund performance and changes to risk profiles.
- Support the risk and valuation functions to establish, document and monitor risk and valuation procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and review of valuations from Investment Managers and Third Party Valuers, ensuring that valuations are accurate and comply with industry standards and best practices.
- Aspire to develop proficiency in interpreting and implementing various regulatory reporting requirements, such as AIFMD and UCITS, for a variety of fund strategies.
- Respond immediately to any material risk issues that arise at client funds by escalating it to the appropriate authority within the company.
- Collaborate and engage with colleagues from various jurisdictions and teams on ongoing projects and duties of the wider company.
- Support the development of Carne's proprietary system, Curator, with respect to Risk Analytics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and analyse complex financial data and market trends.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
