Morgan McKinley is delighted to be partnering with a leading name in the retail sector to recruit a commercially driven Assistant Merchandise Planner in Dublin.Working within a high-performing team, this Assistant Merchandise Planner will play a key role in supporting sales performance, optimising product distribution, and leveraging data insights to drive decision-making. This position offers a unique chance to gain exposure to major global retail brands and make a measurable impact on trading operations.Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the development and execution of merchandise plans and inventory strategies.
Analyze sales performance, stock levels, and trends to support decision-making.
Prepare and maintain weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
Work closely with the Buying, Merchandising, and Allocation teams to ensure optimal stock levels.
Support the creation of financial forecasts and assist in budgeting processes.
Conduct data analysis to identify risks and opportunities for sales growth.
Utilize Excel to create complex reports, dashboards, and data models.
Assist in markdown planning and promotional strategies to drive profitability.
Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure timely stock replenishment.
Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and stock reconciliations.

What We're Looking For:

2+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or a related role.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or a related field.
Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
Advanced proficiency in Excel. Experience with merchandise planning systems and business intelligence tools is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
