Maintenance ElectricianLocation: WexfordHartley People Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join the dedicated engineering team at a leading food manufacturing facility in Wexford.This role focuses on supporting production by maintaining bakery, refrigeration, and packaging systems, with a strong emphasis on PLCs and computerized machine controls.Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems across bakery, refrigeration, and conveyor machinery.
  • Work on both analog and digital systems, with particular emphasis on PLC-based control panels.
  • Balance planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring downtime stays below site benchmarks.
  • Support and develop the site’s preventative maintenance programme through the in-house digital work order system.
  • Conduct daily maintenance tasks, inspections, and testing to ensure compliance with electrical and food-safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Liaise with external service providers for specialist tasks, audits, and warranty service support.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of efficient maintenance practices.
Skills & Experience:
  • Fully qualified Electrician (formal electrical qualification is essential for insurance compliance).
  • 4+ years’ post-apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of PLCs and digital controls, with ability to troubleshoot and program adjustments.
  • Exposure to mechanical and pneumatic systems desirable.
  • Previous experience with bakery, food production, or refrigeration equipment is an advantage.
  • Strong record of balancing reactive and planned maintenance activity in a high-output environment.
