Role Overview
An established automotive service operation is seeking a Service Advisor to support its day-to-day aftersales activities. This role sits at the centre of customer interaction and workshop coordination, ensuring vehicles are processed efficiently while customers receive clear, timely communication throughout the service journey.
This position would suit someone who enjoys structure, customer interaction, and working as part of a busy technical team.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main contact point for customers booking in vehicles for servicing or repair.
- Control service bookings and daily workflow to ensure effective use of workshop capacity.
- Create accurate job cards based on customer-reported issues and service requirements.
- Communicate repair progress, delays, and completion times to customers in a straightforward manner.
- Explain costs, approvals, and service outcomes clearly prior to work commencement and on collection.
- Prepare estimates, close jobs, issue invoices, and process payments in line with internal procedures.
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure work is completed to specification and on schedule.
- Upsell relevant maintenance or repair work where appropriate and beneficial to the customer.
- Address customer concerns or complaints professionally, escalating where required.
- Work closely with parts, warranty, and administrative teams to ensure service continuity.
- Maintain accurate digital and paper records using internal systems.
- Previous experience in an automotive service, aftersales, or similar customer-facing environment preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a calm, organised approach.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a busy setting.
- Familiarity with Dealer Management Systems or similar scheduling/invoicing platforms is advantageous.
- Practical understanding of vehicle servicing processes (formal technical training not essential).
- Full, clean driving licence.
