Our client, a leading supplier of electrical & mechanical services, is currently seeking to hire a Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Leinster. This role will cover the Monaghan/Cavan/Louth/Westmeath areas.Working closely with closely with other Design Engineers, the Electrical Design Engineer will assist the preparation of preliminary designs, detailed designs, and the ongoing support of live contracts.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Design assessments on WWT assets.
Perform preliminary and detailed EICA design of water / wastewater treatment plants.
Application of appropriate software to provide advice, solutions and successful outcomes to achieve contract objectives.
Developing and adopting standards in design to streamline engineering tasks.
Liaise with external consultants, supply chain partners, contractors and other stakeholders.
Determine the applicable design and installation standards, and ensuring they are applied on projects.
Actively mentoring, training and providing guidance to staff within the engineering process and wider group project.
Developing cable schedules, block diagrams, and single line diagrams.
Ability to plan and develop electrical layout drawings, including cable runs and ducts, using CAD packages.
Assist the Commissioning Manager in the development of site commissioning procedures and project specific plans.
Assisting the commercial/estimating team members in developing CAPEX and OPEX models for electrical, instrumentation, control and automation equipment and systems.
Assisting the Tendering Department in preparing tender submissions.
Technical specification and report writing.
Occasional travel required to project sites will be required.

Desirable Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation.
+5 years of experience in EICA Design in water / wastewater sector.
Chartered status is an advantage.
Professional Membership of a relevant institution (i.e. Engineers Ireland, IET)
Proven experience in delivery of technical designs
Excellent technical and commercial knowledge of electrical infrastructure design, construction, and commissioning.
Strong organisational skills and report writing experience with experience of relevant electrical standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and a knowledge 2D/3D CAD software.
Ability to work efficiently, whether on their own or in a team environment.
