MCS Group is proud to be working with a well-established semi state organisation looking to bring in a senior data leader to take ownership of their enterprise data function.This role will sit at the centre of how data is structured, governed and used across the business. You'll lead on data strategy, improve data quality and lifecycle management, and help turn data into something the business can actually use to make better decisions.You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across IT, risk and the wider business, shaping how data is managed, consumed and leveraged.(Hybrid - Co.   • Define and drive the organisation's data strategy
  • Own data governance, standards and data quality across the business
  • Build and improve data lifecycle management processes
  • Act as the central point of contact for data across systems and applications
  • Work with IT teams on data architecture, modelling and integration decisions
  • Oversee data vendors, sources and usage (including cost and optimisation)
  • Develop dashboards and reporting to support business decision making
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to align data initiatives with business goals
What we're looking for...
  • 10+ years' experience in data / IT roles, with strong leadership exposure
  • Strong background in ETL / ELT and data pipeline design
  • Experience working in scalable, distributed or big data environments
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing and data modelling
  • Cloud experience (AWS or Azure)
  • Strong SQL and RDBMS experience (Oracle / SQL Server beneficial)
  • Experience with data governance and MDM concepts
  • Comfortable working across technical and business stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence at senior level
  • Full right to work in Ireland (Stamp 4/EU Citizenship)
Nice to have...
  • Experience working in data-heavy, regulated environments
  • Exposure to Hadoop ecosystems or NoSQL technologies
  • Familiarity with APIs, REST, JSON and integration technologies
