Staff Grade Medical Scientist in MicrobiologyPurpose of the Role:The purpose of this post is to support the delivery of a quality laboratory service in compliance with the requirements of international standard ISO 15189 in the Microbiology laboratory.The post holder is required to perform a broad range of scientific work in the laboratory under the supervision of senior colleagues. She/he will carry out routine analyses, participate in implementing new methods and will actively participate in the laboratory quality management systemEssential Criteria:Candidates must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the post, possess:· Bachelor’s in science (Applied Science) Honours degree (Biomedical option) from the University of Dublin/ Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin StreetOr· Bachelor’s in science Honours degree in Biomedical Science from t University College Cork – Cork Institute of Technology courseOr· Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street of the Cork Institute of Technology awarded prior to 1994Or· Possess Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology. Kevin Street or Cork Institute of Technology or the Galway/ Mayo Institute of Technology (awarded prior to 1997)Or· A recognised qualification at least equivalent to the above andbe a member, or be eligible for membership, of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM)and· Be CORU registeredHow to Apply and Informal Enquiries:
