Additionally, the successful candidate will be key to ensuring the Capital Allocation and FP&A frameworks are applied efficiently and enhanced according to business requirements across the VMIE Group. This role has the ability to help shape business decisions through effective performance monitoring, assessment of business cases and requests for capital investment.This role forms part of the Ireland Capital Allocation & Business Control (CABC) team led by the Deputy CFO. This team works collaboratively with other finance functions including the Shared Services Centre to ensure that finance processes and ways of working are adhered to and operating effectively.The role requires someone who is highly organised, has strong attention to detail, is naturally inquisitive and has a proactive approach to improving processes and developing new ways of reporting.Specific Duties & Tasks:Collaborate with Consumer SFBP to provide insight that drives effective capital allocation through strategic business planning, budgeting, and regular reviews with the businessSupporting SFBP on Fixed Resi business partnering activities and ways of working. Develop expertise in this complex area to eventually provide coverage and support in this critical aspect of our businessInvestigate opportunities as well as high risk and material financial issues or problem areasCollaborate with business owners and FBPs in the review of business cases, supporting the business in obtaining budget for high return investment opportunitiesPrepare insightful commentary on performance for local and central teamsMaintain, enhance and distribute comprehensive internal performance files to internal and group teams including senior managementContribute to monthly performance reviews with Deputy CFO & CFOAssist in planning processes for multi-year strategic plans, financial budgets and monthly forecasts including preparation of materials for CEO sign-offCo-ordinate with local BI, Central and Shared Service teams to ensure accurate KPI reporting on weekly & monthly basisMaintain internal data structures for reporting and PO approval hierarchiesCoordinate with local and central CABC teams on monthly forecast submission process driving accurate and timely reporting.Act as primary contact within FP&A team for regulatory reportingContribute to ensuring compliance with relevant controls and guidelines (such as US GAAP, Purchasing Policy, etc.) to maintain required levels of adherence.Skills & Expertise:Part qualified/Qualified accountantFinancial planning experience advantageous, but not essentialStrong skills working with applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint)Prior experience with databases (e.g. Hyperion – Planning & HFM), Oracle, etc.) advantageous, but not essentialFinancial modelling skillsAbility to analyse trends with a view to understanding key drivers and how they impact those trends both historically and in the future.Ability to translate finance analysis into layman terms for communication to Business.The Person:First class problem-solver who gets to the heart of the matter.The ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with the business while ascertaining the key impact/detail behind the issue/request.A team player who can lead by example and inspire others on a daily basis.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and embrace change.A methodical approach to both daily tasks and project work.Explores opportunities by being resourceful and self-motivating.Virgin Media is an equal opportunities employer.
