Facilities & Maintenance Technician / EngineerAbout Our ClientWe are hiring on behalf of a leading infrastructure services company that delivers critical facilities support across telecoms and data centre environments. They are currently seeking a skilled Facilities & Maintenance Technician / Engineer with a strong electrical background to join their high-performing facilities management team in Dublin.This is a key position supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical infrastructure where electrical systems play a central role.Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain critical building systems, with a particular focus on electrical infrastructure (LV distribution systems, UPS, generators, etc.)
  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across systems including switchgear, power distribution, BMS, and backup power
  • Support general maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, and other building services as needed
  • Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation with the engineering team
  • Conduct regular inspections and ensure that all plant rooms and electrical equipment meet safety, compliance, and operational standards
  • Troubleshoot and respond to system faults, ensuring prompt resolution of electrical and building services issues
  • Use Building Management Systems (BMS) and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for task tracking and issue resolution
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors during project work, equipment upgrades, or system shutdowns
  • Contribute to energy efficiency, system reliability, and workplace safety initiatives
  • Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and industry standards
Requirements
  • Minimum Qualification: QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft Electrical
  • Proven experience working in data centres, telecoms, or other critical infrastructure environments
  • Strong technical understanding of:
  • Electrical systems: LV distribution, UPS, standby generators
  • Supporting systems: chillers, pumps, HVAC, and mechanical services
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills in complex systems
  • Clear communicator with a proactive, safety-first mindset
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working in regulated environments (GMP, cleanrooms, healthcare)
  • Additional trade certifications (e.g. refrigeration, plumbing)
  • Familiarity with industry safety standards (HSE, OSHA, etc.)
  • Knowledge of clean utilities or lab systems is a plus
