The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?Reporting into the Facilities Manager and Site Services Manager, you will coordinate and implement facility/utility projects and support facilities management program to deliver safe and reliable utilities/facilities for customers and business.The Facility Engineer will have a strong electrical and controls background providing critical technical capability needed to maintain, develop, and protect the site’s electrical infrastructure and automation systems, inclusive of below Key Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:Maintaining LV/MV electrical distribution systemsOversight of UPS, generators, and emergency power systemsPower quality monitoring and issue resolutionArc‑flash risk assessment and electrical safety controlsElectrical load planning for current and future capacityEngagement with local utility service provider i.e. ESBMajor Responsibilities:Interacting with Architects, M&E Designers/Engineers on matters relating to building services.Assisting Design teams on development of site-specific Facility/Utility equipment/processes as required.Commissioning, organising and assessing the work of contractors.Overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures.Making life-cycle outcomes about existing systems equipment and the appropriate location of new equipment.Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements.Generate and execute validation protocols, trials/ studies and create associated reports for facilities/utilities.Performing and analysing data, evaluating results, forming conclusions & contributing to Facility/Utility process improvements.Identification and implementation of Cost Improvement and innovative Opportunities for Facility Operations.Oversight of facilities/utilities preventative maintenance program​Qualifications/experience:3+ years related work experienceQualification: Certificate/Craft Certificate/Third Level Qualification in Engineering/Automation/Mechanical/ElectricalWhat are the benefits and perks of working at Abbott Donegal?Health Insurance for you and your familyPensionLife insuranceShort Term Disability ProtectionLong Term Disability ProtectionFlexible workingCarers leaveEducation AssistanceConnect with us at or , on LinkedIn at , on Facebook at and on Twitter @AbbottNews.Abbott is an equal opportunities employerThe base pay for this position is N/AIn specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.JOB FAMILY: Facilities & MaintenanceDIVISION: ADC Diabetes CareLOCATION: Ireland
