- Lead and manage planning applications for residential developments in Ireland, including LRD and other housing schemes
- Coordinate planning strategy for housing projects from pre-application through to determination
- Liaise with local authorities, statutory consultees, design teams, and other stakeholders
- Prepare, review, and oversee planning reports, planning statements, EIAR screening, and supporting documentation
- Advise development teams on planning risk, policy compliance, and consenting strategy
- Monitor and interpret national, regional, and local planning policy relevant to housing delivery
- Support appeals and judicial review processes as required
- Contribute to programme management and delivery across GSL’s housing portfolio
- Provide mentoring and technical support to junior planning staff as the in-house planning function develops
- Where required, support renewable energy planning projects in collaboration with the wider Galetech Energy Services team
- IPI and/or RTPI-accredited planning qualification or demonstrable eligibility for membership (mandatory)
- A relevant third-level qualification in planning or a related discipline
- Typically 5–7 years’ experience in the planning and delivery of residential development projects in Ireland
- Demonstrable experience working on housing planning applications, including Large-scale Residential Developments (LRD) (or equivalent SHD experience)
- Strong understanding of Irish housing policy, development management, and consenting processes
- Experience working within a consultancy, developer, or local authority planning environment
- Ability to manage applications independently and provide senior planning advice to project teams
- Strong report-writing, analytical, and organisational skills
- Confident engagement with planning authorities and statutory consultees
- Experience advising on housing density, design standards, and policy compliance
- Ability to work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and development teams
- Interest in sustainable development and high-quality residential design
- Flexibility to support renewable energy planning projects where required
- Full clean EU driving licence and access to own transport
