Please visit our website:Job DescriptionThe QS is responsible for cost control on behalf of the Contracting Entity, ensuring effective management and control of spend, and ensuring payments are compliant with the contracting reimbursement principles (schedules of rates, bills of quantity, materials on and off site payments, etc.), as well as monitoring the anticipate final project costs. In doing so, the QS will provide cost management and cost advice to the Claims, Contract Management and Project Management team, and ensure that the Contracting Entity achieves the project's budgetary goals and objectives.The QS will undertake or review measurement of designs and on-site works completed, develop the schedule of rates or Bill of Quantities, provide their assessment of on and off site materials, monthly payment certificates and package final accounts, as well as monitoring the anticipate final project costs and making recommendations for monthly payments or final accounts due ensuring Contractual Entitlement.Qualifications7+ years's experience in quantity surveying within a commercial/residential and OR upgrade environment.Must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, construction contract commercial documents, drawings and specifications.Strong experience of delivering technically complex and high value infrastructure projectsExperience of working in a comparable consultancy environment, or with a client or contractor organisationKnowledge of cost management principles, methods, techniques and tools, including the standard method of measurement * Knowledge of policy and procedure implementationAbility to work within a multi-disciplinary while ensuring that all cost management tasks are conducted in a timely and accurate manner.Proficient in MS Office (all packages) and knowledge of project financial and cost management systemsStrong commercial and financial awareness including monitoring and co-ordination of budgetAbility to drive team participation and high performance.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical abilityStrong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlinesWell-developed interpersonal and communication skills are key along with high personal motivation and energy.Good understanding of project governance and procurement processes.Ability to develop long term relationships with all team members, and effectively balance people and processes.Previous experience of managing internal resources including mentoring of more junior staff members.Additional Information
