A well-established and growing civil engineering contractor is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join their team in the Ballinasloe area.This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable business with a strong pipeline of work across infrastructure and utilities projects, offering long-term career progression and a strong focus on safety and quality.The RoleYou will play a key role in supporting site teams to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance are maintained across active projects.Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Assist in the preparation and review of RAMS
  • Ensure full compliance with Irish health & safety legislation
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Investigate incidents and produce detailed reports
  • Maintain accurate H&S documentation and records
  • Work closely with site management and subcontractors
  • Promote a strong, proactive safety culture on site
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety or related discipline
  • 1–3+ years’ experience in a similar role (construction/civils preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Irish H&S regulations
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Full driving licence
