- Conduct assessments to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on assessment outcomes.
- Deliver therapy sessions to clients in both individual and group settings, utilizing evidence-based approaches.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document client progress, making adjustments to therapy plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic and consistent care.
- Participate actively in team meetings, training, and professional development activities.
- Make informed clinical decisions for complex cases following comprehensive assessments.
- Plan and deliver assessment and treatment programs in alignment with local policies and guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and service users to support decision-making and capacity assessments.
- Communicate assessment results and recommendations effectively to service users and relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, clinical notes, and other relevant records in accordance with professional and departmental standards.
- Provide clinical leadership by supervising and supporting staff, managing work allocation, prioritizing tasks, and fostering positive team morale.
- A Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Current registration with CORU as a Speech and Language Therapist in Ireland.
- Dysphagia qualification accredited by IASLT or an equivalent recognized level.
- A minimum of 2 years of full-time, post-qualification clinical experience working with adults.
- At least 1 year of experience specializing in adults with acquired disorders.
- Proven clinical expertise in assessing and treating adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties.
- Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions relevant to the role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated strong leadership abilities.
- Capacity to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach to therapy.
