- Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests on samples from operations.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as spectrometers, microscopes, and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers.
- Perform chemical analyses using techniques like atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectroscopy.
- Record and interpret test results with precision, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records and reports.
- Assist in developing and implementing laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Ensure adherence to all safety and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide technical support and expertise.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within manufacturing or heavy industry.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment, including AAS, ICP, XRF, and other relevant methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
