- Take charge as a Senior Governance, Risk & Compliance Specialist within our Chief Strategy Office.
- Design and oversee the delivery of continuous 2nd line of defence assurance activities across the GRC function’s core pillars (Governance, Risk Management, Compliance and Business Resilience);
- Report on the outcome of 2nd line of defence assurance activities to the Head of GRC and design, in conjunction with the relevant business functions, appropriate remediation plans.
- Liaise with other 2nd & 3rd line of defence providers across the business e.g. Legal, Finance, HR, Health & Safety, Enterprise Security, Regulation and Internal Audit to ensure there is a co-ordinated approach.
- Provide support to GRC-related change programmes across the business to ensure that assurance is embedded in the design of systems and processes.
- Perform ad-hoc investigations and/or deep dives on GRC-related issues/risks/controls e.g. where controls have not performed adequately/as expected and support the business in effective remediation and improvements required.
- Contribute to the evolution, communication, and application of key GRC-related policy obligations across the Group and/or associated entities including Protected Disclosures, Fraud, Anti Bribery & Corruption, Codes of Conduct.
- Ensure the Group’s governance-related publications are published in line with best practice.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across the business to drive the culture of GRC accountability.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the wider GRC environment, through external research and liaison across the business including developments in new regulations.
- Lead and mentor GRC Analysts in achieving shared goals and performance metrics.
- Lead the development and delivery of GRC-related training and awareness; and
- Act as GRC role-model and champion throughout the company.
- Hold a degree or professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Possess robust analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing or overseeing governance, risk management, compliance, or business resilience processes.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities with a knack for building credibility and fostering relationships across functions.
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills, adept at simplifying complex information.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with corporate governance codes and guidance is advantageous.
- Prior experience in the electricity sector or regulated environments is beneficial but not mandatory.
