VacancyTheatre Assistant/Healthcare AssistantWe are currently recruiting for a Full time Theatre Assistant to provide a support service of the highest quality to staff, patients and consultants within the theatre suite environmentPRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE;- Prepare the appropriate theatre equipment prior to the start of a list, which may include wheelchairs and trolleys, undertaking the appropriate checks to ensure the equipment is clean and safe for use.- Assist with the cleaning and disinfection of the theatre areas / equipment / fittings / furniture on a daily basis. To attend to spillages immediately to reduce the risk of accidents. Remove and replace clinical waste, rubbish and linen bags in accordance with hospital policy. Report any items or equipment for repair to nursing staff. Assist in the movement and positioning of patient as per policy.- Placement of pneumatic tourniquet with confirmation of limb pressure with individual surgeon. Assist with draping of patient within surgeons guidelines maintaining sterility. Maintain integrity of the sterile field.- Assist in the safe transfer of patients between wards, and from the theatre to the recovery area as required.- Provide a messenger service within the theatre department and to communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient- Help maintain the Theatres as a safe environment for patients, staff and consultant users.
