
Accountant - 6 months contract

- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local GAAP and group accounting policies.
- Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of VAT, Intrastat, and other regulatory tax returns for Ireland and potentially other EMEA countries.
- Support payroll accounting and related reconciliations.
- Liaise with external auditors and support the annual statutory audit and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to finance processes and ERP system usage.
- Collaborate with other departments and finance teams across Europe to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
- 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a multinational or shared services environment.
- Strong understanding of VAT regulations and accounting principles.
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.); SAP S/4HANA experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to process improvement.
