- Independently plan, schedule, execute and close out audits to a high professional standard across all risk areas facing the organization; strategic, financial and operational.
- Challenge current practice, champion best practice and be a catalyst for improvement within the organisation by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, insight and foresight as the key output from engagements.
- Negotiate effective and practical audit recommendations with internal business partners and follow up to ensure their effective and timely resolution.
- Focused communication with stakeholders via detailed professional reports and presentations delivered to tight deadlines which are received as supportive and value add.
- Support best practice risk management and proactively engage with internal stakeholders to improve risk management practices.
- Building strong collaborative relationships with management, external auditors and the other compliance functions.
- Work closely with the Head of Internal Audit in the early identification of emerging control issues and aid in reporting them to management and business stakeholders.
- Display the highest levels of integrity, objectivity, competency, confidentiality and due professional care.
- Ad-hoc advisory or investigative projects as required.
- Professionally qualified accountant (or other controls focused individual with equivalent professional qualifications) with minimum 3+ years in internal audit, external audit or compliance function within a similarly regulated/controls focused environment as Uniphar.
- Required experience in successfully communicating and negotiating engagement findings with a wide range of stakeholders in conjunction with comprehensive report writing.
- Desirable to have demonstrable knowledge and experience of performing audit work within Pharmaceutical and MedTech sectors.
- Desirable to have knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements including data protection and information security requirements.
- Able to communicate and persuade with the ability to challenge established practices and policies and to win others to the need for change.
