Kitchen Porter – Healthcare Catering Kitchen | Tullamore3Q Recruitment is recruiting Kitchen Porters to support busy healthcare catering kitchens in Tullamore and the wider Midlands. These roles support the delivery of safe, hygienic and efficient food services for patients, residents and staff in healthcare settings.This is a hands-on healthcare kitchen role, suited to candidates with experience in high-volume kitchens, hospital catering or food service environments who are seeking daytime shifts, dependable hours and longer-term opportunities within healthcare catering.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain cleanliness and organisation across kitchen work areas, equipment and utensilsWash dishes, cookware and service equipment to support daily kitchen operationsAssist with basic food preparation, including peeling, chopping and portioningSupport ward pantry, trolley and beverage station set-up and restockingRecord temperatures and assist with HACCP food safety complianceFollow infection control and hygiene procedures at all timesWork closely with chefs, catering assistants and ward teams to ensure smooth service deliveryRequirements6–12 months’ experience in a kitchen porter, catering assistant or high-volume kitchen rolePrevious healthcare or hospital kitchen experience (advantageous)Basic understanding of HACCP and food safety standardsLegal right to work in IrelandGarda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles.International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16Ability to provide five years of verifiable work referencesReliable, flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environmentStrong teamwork and communication skillsPay & Benefits€17.53 per hourDouble pay on Sundays and Bank HolidaysDaytime shifts only (typically 7:00am–6:30pm)Monday–Sunday roster depending on service requirementsSupportive and well-structured healthcare catering team environmentOngoing training, skill development and progression opportunitiesClear pathway from temporary agency work to longer-term placementsCompetitive pay structure with scheduled reviews
