- Provide independent oversight of the investment activities and portfolio construction of underlying private market strategies.
- Monitor the performance, risk profile and liquidity characteristics of semi-liquid and private asset portfolios.
- Review and challenge investment managers, strategies and portfolio positioning to ensure alignment with mandates and investor expectations.
- Conduct ongoing manager oversight and due diligence, including evaluation of strategy evolution, team changes and operational developments.
- Monitor portfolio diversification, risk exposures and liquidity frameworks across investment structures.
- Ensure the firm’s investment oversight framework meets regulatory obligations, fund documentation and internal governance policies.
- Maintain robust documentation, reporting and oversight of investment managers and delegated functions.
- Oversee the valuation frameworks for private and hard-to-value assets, including review of independent valuations and pricing methodologies.
- Ensure appropriate liquidity monitoring and stress testing frameworks are in place, particularly for semi-liquid strategies.
- Work closely with Risk, Compliance and Operations to ensure investment risks are identified, monitored and managed appropriately.
- Prepare and present investment oversight reports to the Board and relevant governance committees.
- Provide insight into portfolio performance, emerging risks, market developments and macroeconomic considerations.
- Support senior leadership on strategic asset allocation considerations and product governance.
- 10+ years’ experience in investment management, portfolio oversight or alternative investments.
- Strong experience across private market asset classes such as private credit, real estate, infrastructure or private equity.
- Experience working with fund structures and delegated investment managers.
- Solid understanding of semi-liquid or evergreen fund structures is highly desirable.
- Experience holding or being approved for a Central Bank of Ireland PCF-39B / Designated Person – Investment Management role, or the capability to assume this responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to investment oversight, including AIFMD and CP86.
- Strong investment judgement and analytical capability
- Ability to constructively challenge investment managers and strategies
- Excellent governance mindset and regulatory awareness
- Strong communication skills for Board-level engagement
- Comfortable operating in a high-ownership, fast-moving environment
