An Operations Manager is needed by CareerWise Recruitment for our West Cork based design and manufacturing client. The Operations Manager will have a strong background in process engineering and continuous improvement. The person will identify and close process gaps, introduce smart innovations (including automation), and take clear ownership across production, site installation, purchasing and design functions.THE ROLE:

Manage and optimise the full design-to-production-to-site workflow.

Lead operations planning, scheduling, and cross-functional alignment.

Establish and monitor KPIs across design, production, contracts and purchasing.

Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.

Work closely with the MD to develop and implement operational strategies that support company growth and profitability.

Manage and mentor a team of senior leaders, setting clear goals and expectations.

Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety legislation, and environmental standards.

Control operational budgets, including production costs, labour, logistics, and materials.

REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred)

Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in an operations leadership role

Strong technical, engineering and production management-based experience within a volume manufacturing business

Has the ability to get the best out of people through leadership and communication
