- Ensure compliance to policies and laws by monitoring employees and operations.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
- Carrying out safety Risk Assessments prior to starting a new project and continue periodic risk assessments of existing processes within the facility.
- Conducting in-house training sessions on health and safety awareness.
- Conduct regular unannounced walk-through of work areas and talk to personnel to identify any concerns.
- Assist in emergency response and provide first aid (first aid training will be provided).
- Manage facility workplace incident investigations to include responding to and reporting all incidents, incident investigations, determine root cause, establishing recurrence prevention plans, and follow through. Recognise and reward input from employees that improve safety and health in the work place.
- Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
- Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
- Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
- Co-ordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures.
- Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks.
- Manage and devise the agenda, chair, formulate and distribute minutes for the Health Safety Committee meetings.
- Liaise with suppliers i.e. Insurers, Solicitors etc.
- Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
