During term time you would work 3 days per week in our high-tech Laboratory, learning on-the-job, while spending 2 contact days per week with our education partner, Technology University Dublin (Institute of Technology Tallaght).The laboratory facility at Grange Castle is a fully integrated Biotechnology operation incorporating a wide range of test disciplines. The QC laboratories focus on the testing and release of life-changing medicines through the application of its expert team, innovative practices, and novel technologies. You will be joining the Quality team and reporting to the QC Laboratory Supervisor / Shift Lead and will be responsible for providing analytical support to the QC Laboratories.The programme is designed for those who wish to develop a career in the laboratory environment of the Biopharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical, Chemical Manufacturing, Food and Drink, Medical Devices and Diagnostics, and Analytical Testing Laboratory sectors. This structure facilitates the continuous learning and hands on work experience undertaken by the apprentice who, with the support of leading professionals and regional Technology Universities, will learn the behaviours and skills.The Apprentice will be responsible for carrying out basic laboratory duties that may include sample collection, equipment calibration, solution preparation, stock control and glassware maintenance while conducting both basic and advanced analytical testing methods (e.g., chromatography, water, and microbiological testing) on raw materials, in-process or finished product. In addition, the Apprentice will gain more working exposure to various Quality Systems.
