Job Title: Quality Control Technician Employer: Irish Bacon Slicers Ltd Location: Innishmore, Ballincollig, Co Cork, Ireland - P31 EE71 Salary: €34,000 per year Hours of work: 39h per week Key Responsibilities: • Monitor and verify that all products meet company and regulatory standards for quality and safety. • Carry out routine checks on product weight, appearance, temperature, and packaging integrity. • Perform hygiene inspections including swab tests, temperature checks, and other assessments as required. • Record and report deviations from quality standards and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly. • Support the implementation and monitoring of HACCP plans and food safety systems. • Work collaboratively with production, hygiene, and management teams to maintain a safe and compliant environment. • Ensure full traceability procedures are followed throughout all stages of production. • Participate in internal audits and assist in preparing documentation for external audits. Working Conditions: • Shift rotations may apply (morning and evening shifts). • Work is carried out in cold, chilled environments. • The role requires working under time pressure to meet production deadlines. • Standing for long periods and repetitive tasks are part of the job. • Strong tolerance to noise and a busy factory setting is necessary. Requirements: • Previous experience in food manufacturing or quality control is desirable. • Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality systems (HACCP, GMP, BRC). • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. • Ability to adapt to shift rotations and maintain performance under pressure. • Willingness to work in cold environments and follow strict hygiene protocols. • Basic computer skills (data entry, reporting). • Good level of written and spoken English. • Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
