Join an Infrastructure Division as a Senior Process Engineer with 10+ years of experience in the water/wastewater sector. This is a unique opportunity for a candidate with diverse experiences in potable water treatment, low carbon footprint designs, digital twins, and emerging technologies. As a key member of a dynamic and ambitious team, you will contribute to the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects for Irish Water and other clients, with excellent career prospects and potential international opportunities.Role Requirements:
  • Degree-qualified with a chemical/process engineering background and Chartered membership of a recognized professional institution.
  • Typically, 7+ years of experience in the water and/or wastewater engineering sector.
  • Leadership and technical expertise with hands-on understanding of water and wastewater treatment technologies, including design and/or commissioning experience.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor teams and/or individuals and/or projects, potentially split across disciplines and locations.
  • Developing external profile and reputation with a desire to raise the profile of oneself and the Company.
  • Willingness to contribute to and develop technical knowledge networks.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct plant and process reviews, assessments, and root-cause analyses using cutting-edge evaluation techniques.
  • Support plant operation, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Engage in feasibility, outline and detailed process design, including mass, heat, and energy balances, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, hydraulic design, design risk assessments, control philosophies, commissioning strategies, cost and program estimations, plant, and equipment specifications, supplier tender evaluation.
  • Work with and develop digital design tools, such as water quality analysis, unit process sizing, process performance metrics, hydraulic calculations, and other automated design tools.
  • Write technical reports at all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with clients within Ireland and worldwide.
  • Support and/or lead bids, fee proposals, or offers of service, and develop activity schedules/work plans.
  • Understand HAZOP, DSEAR, CDM, WIMES, Irish and European Standards, and other statutory, regulatory, and non-regulatory provisions and guidance.
  • Develop standard and bespoke design solutions across the entire water industry spectrum.
  • Meet and exceed quality, program, budgetary, and H&S requirements on projects.
  • Contribute to new innovative ideas and make suggestions for innovation.
  • Present your project work at company meetings or conferences.
