- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience with fiber types and their application, physical fiber characteristics, and standard testing tools (e.g., OSA, BERT, OTDR).
- Experience with infrastructure technologies, including routers, switches, network cabling, optic types, and the use of network test equipment.
- Experience in DWDM or TCP/IP networking system design or operations methodology.
- Experience in collaboration across multiple levels and functions.
- Experience with large project scopes and ambiguous details within a relevant work environment.
- Experience working with networking equipment in a data center or telecoms environment.
- Support and participate with Design teams, Deployment teams, Peering Negotiators, and Planners to deliver end to end connectivity to the Google network.
- Partner with Core, Transport, and Edge groups to translate solutions into standardized, scalable bill of materials (BOMs) and detailed design packages meeting business needs.
- Generate comprehensive documentation and implementation plans (deployment packages), providing technical leadership and maintaining accurate records during all deployment activities.
- Engage closely with project management and engineering partners to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks within network deployment workflows.
- Execute and troubleshoot capacity workflows for edge network devices across new and existing nodes throughout the global footprint.
