Dara Possibilities supports adults with intellectual disabilities, one person at a time to plan for a full life in partnership with their circle of support. Each person with an intellectual disability is supported to exercise their rights as a valued and contributing member of their local community.Working 1:1 with a young man from his family home to support him to access ordinary activities in his local community. Has an interest in Greek mythology, music, cinema, basketball and swimming. Team member must be kind, understanding, helpful, listens and can give good advice. Clear and concise in their communications with this young gentleman. This role is approximately 12 – 16 hours per week.MAIN DUTIES:· Support Workers support each person in all areas of their lives – in their home and community.ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:· Experience in the social care/intellectual disability sector· Good community connector.· A commitment to people with disabilities, positive, flexible, and energetic attitude· Skills to support people with disabilities in ordinary places in the community· Excellent communication skills – verbal and written· Full, clean driver’s license and use of own car· Available to work daytime, evenings, and weekend duty· Comfortable with lone working· Proficient in using standard office IT applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.· Excellent organisational and time management skillsDESIRABLE:· Qualifications in social care or health care supportShortlisting will apply, only candidates shortlisted for interview will be contacted.Darapossibilities is an equal opportunities employer
