We place them at the heart of what we do, providing challenging opportunities to develop within a great team in a supportive environment that allows them to reach their full potential.This Lead Mechanical Engineer role will provide direct support to a central team working out of Mercury's Font End Engineering Design office at Kildare Innovation Campus, Leixlip. This team is responsible for executing project front-end deliverables for Mercury's Semiconductor (Advanced Technology), Pharmaceutical (Life Sciences) and Battery Factory business units.The FEED team delivers project services across a project portfolio from initial project tender phase through to construction start. Services provided specifically include Engineering, BIM, OSM, Project Controls and Supply Chain Management.Key Responsibilities of the Role:Provide support to FEED team on all Engineering functions including, but not limited to the following:Responsibilities of the Role:· To support the engineering requirements through managing & liaising with Key Project Stakeholders (Client design team, Main contractor, Suppliers, Sub-contractors, etc).· Familiarisation of Design/IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand the scope of the Project works.· Overseeing the Co-ordination process to transform design information into full installation drawings by BIM personnel ensuring spec compliance and as per schedule priority.· Assessment of Sub-contract and Supplier Tender returns for Technical compliance with design intent specifications.· Familiarisation with the Project schedule and ensuring Engineering activities do not impact on same (e.g. Procurement, etc).· Management of the technical submittal, approvals.· Management of the material readiness by producing material take offs prioritised based on lead times and field need dates.· Management of Sub-contractors and ensuring adequate information flow to ensure works progress in line with the Project Schedule and Weekly Meeting logged.· Evaluate and promote the use of new engineering practices and processes to enhance delivery time of the project.· Preparation and agreeing project completion criteria and close out documents.· Submission and close out of any commercial RFIs.· Manage the Workpacks process from development, implementation and handover.· Establish (develop and implement) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for implementing new (and improved) process of functional areas.Tender and FEED Estimate Assistance· Interrogate tender documentation (drawings, specifications, tender addenda, and all other documentation) for commercial risks and scope gaps relating to FEED deliverables.· File finalised FEED tender documentation for future reference as per company filing structures.· Assist in generation and finalisation of FEED estimates, cost forecasts and resource profiles for projects.Essential Criteria for the Role:· 15+ years experience working with a recognised Mechanical/Electrical contractor in process mechanical / pipework.· Honours degree (NFQ Level 8 for Ireland) in Building Services or Mechanical or Process engineering.· Experience of modularisation (Off-Site fabrication).· Excellent organizational and planning skills, ability to manage workload and prioritise.· Excellent negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills.· Excellent IT skills.· Significant experience in the pharmaceutical or Semiconductor industry.· Led teams, investing time in coaching and developing future leaders.· Ability to work and guide teams is essential.· Chartered Engineer preferred (or working towards it).· Lean Six Sigma.Desirable· Experience in SAP (training will be provided).· Experience in use of Naviswork, Bluebeam, CadWorks, PowerBi.Mercury is an equal opportunities employer.
