- Adherence to Apprentice & Training Coordinator’s instructions or any other senior member of the maintenance team.
- To have the ability to take instruction and direction, especially in the areas of Health and Safety and Food Safety.
- To have a willingness to learn and develop in all facets of the training program – electrical and mechanical biases.
- To assist in maintaining the building, attics, workshops, production floors in clean and tidy state, completing fabric upgrades and cleaning tasks when instructed.
- Provide maintenance support, entering data into CMMS system, updating equipment records, and participating in continuous improvement follow up.
- Supporting Production Team in achieving targets through machine downtime resolution
- Completion of tasks assigned including, PMs on assets, building and fabric repairs and production line support.
- Following up to date stores and parts procedures, including booking out and returning of parts form the maintenance stores.
- Observing all onsite policies and legislative rules and regulations in terms of Food Safety and Health and Safety.
- Adhering to site policy directives on environmental issues, i.e. Control and use of oils and greases, disposal of lights & batteries.
- Control of contractors and acting as Liaison Person as and when required.
- Further responsibilities may be added from time to time as the strategy evolves.
- Minimum applicant age is 16.
- Must pass the ISHIHARA colour vision test.
- Leaving Certificate (pre-2017) with grade D3 or Higher in five subjects which must include mathematics. Post 2017 applicants must have achieved five O6 in the Leaving Certificate which must include Mathematics.
- Have successfully completed an approved preapprenticeship training course in an engineering discipline and demonstrate a proficiency in Mathematics similar to O6 in Leaving Certificate.
- A full award placed at Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (EQF 4) which includes proficiency in Mathematics similar to O6 in Leaving Certificate.
- In the case where an applicant is 23 years or over (or employed in the OEM sector for 3 years) and does not meet the educational requirements specified above, they may apply through the Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) process.
- Must be available to travel / relocate for 3 offsite phases.
- No electrical experience or prior knowledge is required, but would be an advantage.
