You will collaborate with the person availing of our services and their family, fellow assistants (if applicable), and relevant Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) staff, including service coordinators and administrative teams.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDomestic support, such as light house work, cooking and other household duties.Facilitating social outings.Drive the member’s vehicle or accompany them as a passenger (where applicable).Participate in mandatory training provided by IWA, including manual handling and safeguarding.Support with communication tasks, such as accessing written information and using technology or devices.Be available for occasional additional hours to cover shifts during holidays, sick leave, or unforeseen circumstances.Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in all interactions with the individual and their family.Person SpecificationEssential Requirements:Full Driving lience requiredApplicants must be 25 year or older for insurance purposes when driving.Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering high-quality support.Fluency in English (spoken and written).Legal right to work in IrelandWillingness to undergo Garda vetting and complete mandatory training before commencing work.Desirable Qualifications and Experience:· No experience neededBehaviours and CompetenciesPerson-centered approach with a high level of empathy and discretion.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and schedules.Good organizational and time-management skills.The position offers a flexible schedule based on the member’s needs. This may include daytime, evening, weekend, and occasional holiday shifts.
