Overview: We are hiring a Ward Catering Assistant for a busy hospital in Dublin 24 to prepare, plate and serve meals to patient wards. Please note, candidates are required to have previous ward catering experience.
Details:
- Position: Ward Catering Assistant
- Location: Dublin 24
- Hours: Multiple shift patters all starting at 7am and finishing at 7pm at the latest – 3-4 days per week, including weekends.
- Rate of pay: €15.53 (Double pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays)
- Preparing, plating, and serving meals to patients with adherence to dietary requirements and portion control guidelines.
- Collecting used cutlery, trays, and dishes from patient wards, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, surfaces, and utensils to maintain high standards of hygiene.
- Assisting Chefs with food preparation tasks such as washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Communicating effectively with nursing staff to accommodate special dietary needs or patient requests.
- Monitoring food temperatures during service and promptly addressing any food safety concerns.
- Previous experience in a busy kitchen or catering environment is essential.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland (Visa/Work permit if needed)
- References spanning the past 5 years of employment.
- Full-time, flexible availability.
- Proficiency in spoken English.
