To support this range of projects we are looking for a talented Data Scientist II to join the Mastercard Foundry R&D team in our Dublin TechHub.RoleThis role involves working with a team of talented scientists to research, discover and test the application of Quantum computing by developing novel solutions.
- Responsible for the research analysis, design, and development of Quantum solutions.
- Research on emerging Quantum capabilities, technologies and techniques.
- Creation and presentment of thought leadership content
- Contribute to the requirements for new applications and customizations, adhering to standards, processes, and best practices
- Applies technical capabilities within own discipline to mentor colleagues
- Work with cross functional teams spread across geographies on new product innovation and R&D initiatives
- Work on publishing Research papers and filing IDFs and Patents for solution concepts in the field of AI
- Identify opportunities where Quantum could be leveraged as a key enabler/disputer.
- Python proficiency with scientific libraries (NumPy, SciPy)
- Experience with quantum frameworks: Qiskit, PennyLane or Cirq
- Familiarity with classical optimization techniques and tools
- Machine learning experience, especially with PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Version control (Git) and basic software engineering practices
- Cloud quantum platforms: IBM Quantum, AWS Braket, Azure Quantum, DWave
- Background in physics, CS, or related field; research experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of Python based API based frameworks like FastAPI and comfortable working with JSON objects
- Working knowledge of Databricks is good to have
- Experience in composition of solutions where Quantum is a component part.
- Possess at least 2 years of relevant work experience in the field of Quantum Computing/Algorithms
- Loves creating innovative solutions to problems in a collaborative fun environment
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of modern software engineering concepts, tools and methodologies
- Passionate about code quality and coding best practices
- Show initiative and demonstrate a willingness to take on challenging opportunities
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and strong collaboration skills
- Must be driven, highly motivated and a strong team-player
