Job Overview:Spectrum Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Doctor to provide medical care across two care settings: Nursing homes and Hospital based cover supporting Level 2 rehabilitation patients, long-term care residents, and adults with intellectual disabilities and mobility challenges.Main Job information:Hours per week: minimum 36 hours per weekDays: Monday- Saturday (flexible schedule)Pay: €99,000 per annumKey Responsibilities:Nursing Home (26 hours per week):
  • 16 hours/week in Clinic: Deliver comprehensive medical care to Level 2 rehabilitation patients, focusing on recovery, discharge planning, aliasing with the families and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • 10 hours/week in Clinic/Telemedicine: Provide ongoing medical support and clinical oversight to long-term care residents, ensuring continuity of care and addressing chronic and acute health issues.
Hospital (10 hours per week):
  • Deliver medical care to adult residents with intellectual disabilities and mobility issues, supporting both preventive and responsive healthcare needs.
  • Liaise closely with nursing, allied health professionals, and care staff to ensure holistic care plans are in place and maintained.
General Duties:
  • Perform medical assessments, reviews, and documentation in line with best practice and regulatory standards.
  • Prescribe appropriate treatment and medication, manage chronic conditions, and respond to acute medical needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, physiotherapy, social work, and occupational therapy.
  • Participate in care planning meetings and family consultations where appropriate.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health legislation and clinical governance protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Medical degree
  • Active IMC Registration (Irish Medical Council) (essential)
  • Medical Indemnity Insurance. (essential)
  • Eligibility to Work in Ireland
  • Minimum 3 years postgraduate experience in Ireland (essential)
  • Clinical experience, preferably in family medicine, rehabilitation, geriatric care, or disability services. (desired)
  • Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills.
  • Empathetic, patient-focused approach with a commitment to quality care.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across different care settings.
