- Coordinates all phases of assigned translation projects including pre-processing and post-processing of files, file tracking and management.
- Prepares files for translation, reassembles projects post translation into their native formats and provides QA support to other localized projects, including corp website, marketing copy, online learning, and multimedia space.
- Tracks all work according to general and project-specific instructions.
- Maintenance and improvement of the Translation Memory, including development of QA scripts, glossaries and DNT lists. Note that this is not a specific-language translation role, but a localization generalist. Experience using Trados Studio as a translator is helpful.
- May collaborate on the design, implementation and documentation of new localization processes and tools as these are developed for more media content.
- Consult with Cofense Marketing on regionalized communications in multiple formats including web and documents.
- Consult with the Cofense Content team to produce Japanese regional Security Awareness (SAT) content
- Other duties as assigned.
- Advanced knowledge of RWS Trados Studio (file preparation, TM management, SDK scripting); comprehensive knowledge of localization tools and Translation Management Systems
- Experience with Adobe Captivate and the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
- Basic knowledge of HTML and XML
- Basic knowledge of locales, encodings, code pages, fonts, scripts, input methods, and character sets as they relate to localization
- Understanding of subtitling and voiceover, basic understanding of text to speech applications such as Amazon Polly, Vyond and/or Murf.
- Knowledge of the localization industry and its technical aspects
- Excellent spoken and written English and Japanese, other foreign language skills very helpful
- Experience with Adobe Captivate and the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
- Bachelor's Degree preferred (localization, linguistics, or with equivalent experience)
- A minimum of 2-3 years solid in-depth experience in the internationalization and localization (either vendor- or client-side) as a localization specialist or translator. This is not an applied translation role, however having worked as a translator is very beneficial.
- Hands on experience with RWS Trados Studio (non-negotiable)
- Fluency in non-English language required, preferably Japanese
