Requirements of the Sous Chef

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or higher in a quality restaurant or hotel kitchen
Valid work permit with documentation
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
Excellent organisational and time-management skills with great attention to detail
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
Genuine passion for food, creativity, and keeping up to date with modern culinary trend

Responsibilities of the Sous Chef

Support the Head Chef in the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen
Be actively involved in cooking, prep, and service during busy shifts
Maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
Lead by example on the kitchen floor, training and mentoring junior chefs
Contribute ideas to menus and daily specials
Oversee food safety, hygiene, and HACCP compliance
Manage stock control, ordering, and cost efficiency
