
Evening Shift Supervisor

- Lead in the planning, coordination and management of all concrete works on site.
- Arrange for all safety equipment, raw materials, moulds, access equipment or other items necessary to complete scheduled works.
- Check that plant and equipment in use for works is fit for purpose and is in good working order.
- Check all HSEQ controls and records are adhered to when supervising works.
- Provide activity-specific instruction to train employees in the steps to be followed to complete works safely and to the required quality standard.
- Monitor competency levels of trained employees and support the training and development of junior employees.
- Keep records of internal training and competence assessments and provide to health and safety department for inclusion in training matrix.
- Check all legally required inspections and checklists, and company specific records are maintained and filled.
- Schedule work and coordinate people resources to execute manufacturing works plan developed by Department Manager.
- Complete daily record of units cast.
- Record and update Department Manager of department issues including performance, safety, quality, output and resources.
- Accurately record labour hour allocations to projects.
- Report, monitor and support issues related to individual and team performance together with the Department Manager and HR Manager, to include, but not limited to, conducting probation reviews and return-to-work interviews, conducting and/or providing input into performance appraisal, assisting in the investigation, disciplinary and grievance processes, monitoring and actioning absenteeism of direct reports, etc.
- Provide input into and assist in the development of improved safe systems of works.
- Ensure production halls and site are secure and safe upon end of shift.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve business objectives.
- Any other reasonable duties that may be assigned by the Line Manager and/or their designee(s).
- Trade Qualification or previous experience in concrete finishing an advantage.
- Health and Safety Supervisor training (will be provided if not completed).
- Lift Supervisor training (will be provided if not completed).
- Prior education or training in a people management or related stream an advantage.
- Ability to complete task-specific safety risk assessment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and provide guidance to a team.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Comfortability and know-how to take action if required standards are not being met.
- Understanding of standard HR processes for performance management.
- Technical ability to read drawings.
- Attention to detail and problem solving ability.
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong awareness and respect for health and safety rules and procedures.
- Flexibility of duties and working hours.
- Must be willing and eligible to work evenings shift hours Monday to Friday, i.e. 2pm to 10.30pm, 9.30pm finish on Fridays.
- English language fluence is essential.
