The Supply Chain Inventory Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of inventory management processes within the Global Clinical Supply (GCS) supply chain. This includes monitoring inventory status, following procedural guidelines to ensure GMP, GXP, and financial compliance, responding to internal site queries, providing expertise on inventory adjustments, study closeouts, and discard activities, and maintaining metrics and reports.Responsibilities:
  • Follows procedures and guidelines to ensure accurate and compliant inventory adjustments are carried out.
  • Monitors and promptly responds to queries and requests related to inventory management.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) on physical inventory, inventory adjustments, and discards, providing guidance on differentiating between discard and adjustment when the situation is ambiguous.
  • Responds to internal site queries on various inventory-related topics, including unrestricted inventory discards, physical inventory, and non-SAP inventory.
  • Provides expertise on key processes including discards, cycle counting, and non-SAP inventory end-of-life management.
  • Develops and maintains metrics related to inventory accuracy, depot batch accuracy, CMO inventory accuracy, and internal cycle counting.
  • Completes Tier 1 metrics and provides annual report statistics and end-of-year metrics.
  • Provides data analytics expertise to the Process Owner for compiling the end-of-year report.
  • Monitors and reports on internal cycle counting metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Establishes the scope of count universe annually for both CMOs and internal sites.
  • Takes responsibility for the maintenance of business tools used by the SCM IM team and supports the development of new tools to simplify and enhance SCM IM processes.
  • Hosts supporting clinics for business partners engaging with SCM IM tools.
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements using a lean methodology.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., GMP, GXP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP or other inventory management systems is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyse data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
