The rehabilitation strategy is based on the use of predictive neuromechanical modeling for designing the assistance/resistance force patterns deployed by a robotic prototype for lower limb training previously developed in the lab. The prototype is called the HaCT system and is based on a stationary pedaling system design. There are two main scientific components in the ReHAPT project, the modeling component and the robotic component. This position is a Post Doctoral role in the robotic component of the project. The aim is to develop the low-and high-level control strategies for the HaCT robot, which consists of 3 motors shaping the kinematic and kinetic trajectories of the lower limb. This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator. The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.Post Doc Level 1 Salary Range: €42,783 - €46,569 per annum.Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on 22nd May 2024.Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified.
