“Enabling people with an intellectual disability to have full and meaningful lives through quality person-centred services in partnership with families”Cheeverstown is a voluntary organisation, regulated by the Health Information & Quality Authority (HIQA).We provide a wide range of person-centred services, including residential, respite, and day services to almost 400 adults with an intellectual disability in the south Dublin area.We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated individuals to join our team as Summer Care Assistants, supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives while gaining valuable experience in the intellectual disability sector.The role:
  • Provide person-centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in daily living activities
  • Respond to individual needs, interests and desires in planning and delivering supports.
  • Support individuals in social, recreational, and community-based activities
  • Promote independence, dignity, and choice at all times
  • Follow care plans and organisational policies, including safeguarding and health & safety procedures
Essential Requirements:
  • QQI level 5 with all 8 modules completed in Healthcare, social care or a relevant area
  • Completed at least 1 year of nursing or social care studies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment and dedication to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and autism.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends across our locations
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach
Induction weeks are provisionally scheduled to commence on 15th of June 2026.Please note: All job offers are subject to two successful references, ongoing Garda Vetting, completion of mandatory training (online & onsite) and a satisfactory pre-employment medical.Salary will be paid at the Care Assistant grade on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales, depending on qualifications and experience.
