
Social Care Leader, under 18s Residential Services, Grange Lodge, Dublin

- To lead a residential team in adhering to the HIQA National Standards for Children's Residential Centres.
- To ensure placement plans for the young people are developed, followed, kept updated regularly and are in line with the young person's care plan.
- To work in a leadership role as part of a residential rota over 7 days a week.
- To lead the team in providing a safe welcoming environment for young people aged 15-18 who are out of home, including provision of basic care needs such as household duties.
- To take the lead on shift with Project Workers, and to ensure that the staff team with whom you are on duty carry out allocated tasks in a competent and professional manner.
- To oversee that daily logs, case notes and other information is recorded as required by the National Standards for Children in Residential Services.
- To be responsible for conducting the performance appraisals and for monitoring the performance of the staff being supervised by him/her.
- A working knowledge of the impact of childhood adversity on adolescents
- A working knowledge and awareness of HIQA National Standards for Children's Residential Centres.
- Ability to manage and support teenagers in crisis who present with challenging behaviours.
- A high standard of written communication
- A working knowledge and understanding of Child Protection, and responses to concerns. (Desirable)
- A working knowledge and understanding of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model. (Desirable)
