The EMEA Global Trade Export Compliance Manager will be part of a team responsible for the import/export compliance program for operations throughout EMEA, supporting Aptiv, Wind River and other Aptiv subsidiaries. This role focuses on ensuring the legal international trade of software and goods in compliance with applicable government laws and regulations, with an emphasis on export compliance regulations in the EU and across the EMEA region.Want to join us?Your Role
  • Ensure that the company’s activities within EMEA are compliant with domestic and international customs, export, and sanctions requirements.
  • Serve as the resident expert on EU and EMEA customs, export, and sanctions laws and regulations.
  • Monitor, analyse and interpret government regulations, policy and requirements for compliance as they relate to customs and export control laws and regulations, and sanctions from applicable countries within the EU and EMEA region.
  • Provide export control/dual-use classification, as required, to support compliant export of Aptiv & Wind River products and software.
  • Manage national, EU and EMEA export license applications, usage and reporting requirements.
  • Support the establishment, documentation and periodic update of trade compliance processes and procedures
  • Develop and deliver training, cross-functionally, to relevant Aptiv stakeholders.
  • Support Aptiv’s Global Trade Compliance Internal Assessment program by carrying out site assessments and managing identified improvements/developments.
  • Ensure appropriate maintenance of customs related records in accordance with Aptiv and Legal requirements.
  • Support Customs Compliance related audits.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Supply Chain, Logistics, Tax, Finance, Sites etc.) to support corporate planning initiatives and provide due diligence and M&A support
  • Provide consultation to business units, subsidiaries, and business function leadership on issues affecting the business, and resolve matters in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Your Background
  • Top-tier global trade and export compliance experience, including with a law or consulting firm and/or multinational company
  • 5-10+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Extensive experience with EU export controls systems and government tools, CDIU, BAFA, UKBIS & HRMC, EU export & TARIC classification, and country of origin determination.
  • Knowledge of US re-export, including De Minimis and Direct Product rules
  • Extensive knowledge of EUGEA usage rules and government reporting requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of EU sanctions and munitions list regulations, with specific focus on national level requirements for Ireland, Germany, Switzerland and/or Netherlands; knowledge of additional national level requirements in other EU countries strongly preferred.
  • Experience in dual-use & munitions list export classification and jurisdiction assignment
  • Software/Encryption Technology industry experience is required
  • Experience with Amber Road/E2Open Trade Automation Solutions
  • English fluency required, multiple language skills desirable
