We have a new role available for a Site Engineer to join an established civil engineering contractor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with expertise in setting out and supervision.Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Coordination:
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans
  • Assist in creating and maintaining project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks
  • Coordinate with various teams and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution
  • Participate in regular project meetings and provide updates on progress, challenges, and solutions
  • Setting Out and Surveying:
  • Conduct precise setting out of construction works using advanced surveying equipment and techniques
  • Perform regular site surveys to ensure accuracy of construction activities
  • Interpret and implement technical drawings and specifications on-site
  • Verify and maintain survey control points throughout the project duration
  • Site Supervision and Quality Control:
  • Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards
  • Monitor and evaluate the work of contractors and subcontractors
  • Conduct regular inspections of ongoing work to identify and address any quality issues
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site
  • Technical Support and Problem-Solving:
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team
  • Analyse and resolve complex engineering problems that arise during construction
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve project efficiency and quality
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and as-built drawings
  • Document any changes or variations from the original project plans
  • Generate and submit regular progress reports to project management
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders
  • Resource Management:
  • Monitor and optimise the use of materials, equipment, and labour on-site
  • Assist in the procurement of necessary materials and equipment
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify and mitigate potential resource constraints
  • Ensure efficient allocation and utilisation of resources throughout the project lifecycle
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies as required
  • Represent the company in meetings with external stakeholders
  • Address and resolve any concerns or issues raised by project stakeholders
  • Maintain positive relationships with all parties involved in the project
