Contract: PermanentOsborne is proud to partner with our client in the search for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring accurate payroll delivery in a public Sector body.
This role will suit a detail-oriented professional with IPASS qualification and experience in payroll processing, ideally with exposure to the public sector, though this is not essential.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly and quarterly payroll cycles for employees, liaising with an outsourced provider.
- Ensure the accuracy of all payroll instructions, deductions, and statutory returns.
- Prepare payroll reconciliations and signoffs, including ROS and pension returns.
- Respond to payroll and benefits queries with professionalism and accuracy.
- Support and administer company benefit schemes (pensions, healthcare, etc.).
- Assist with pension operations, compliance, and reporting.
- Process HR and payroll-related invoices through the PO system.
- Approve employee setups and changes within HR systems for payroll purposes.
- Provide payroll and benefits guidance during employee inductions.
- Conduct manual payroll calculations when required.
- Maintain and update payroll and HR procedures, ensuring compliance.
- Collaborate with colleagues on compensation, benefits, and wider HR initiatives.
- IPASS qualification (essential).
- Minimum 3+ years' payroll processing experience with strong knowledge of Irish tax, PRSI, and levies.
- Experience working with external payroll vendors and HR/Finance teams.
- Strong systems literacy, with experience in HRIS and payroll software.
- Proven track record of accuracy, compliance, and meeting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Exposure to public sector or highly regulated environments is an advantage but not essential.
