Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Quality Engineer (QA/QC) to join a specialist construction contractor delivering high-specification projects across Ireland.The role will be based from Kilkenny but will primarily involve working across project locations including Dublin, Cork, and the Midlands (Athlone). The company operates across technically demanding sectors such as pharmaceutical, data centre, and other controlled environment projects, delivering complex construction packages to high quality standards.The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining quality assurance processes across multiple projects, ensuring works are completed in line with specifications, compliance standards, and client requirements. Occasional short overseas visits may also be required to support project teams or attend technical reviews, typically lasting 2–3 days approximately every couple of months.This position would suit a candidate with a strong building or main contractor background who is looking to develop their career within high-end construction projects.Benefits

- Lead QA/QC activities across construction projects ensuring compliance with specifications
- Implement and maintain site quality management systems and documentation
- Coordinate BCAR compliance processes with design teams and certifiers
- Conduct inspections and audits of installation works and materials
- Review inspection test plans, quality documentation, and material certifications
- Liaise with subcontractors to ensure adherence to quality procedures
- Manage non-conformance reports and corrective action processes
- Assist commissioning and validation teams during project close-out stages
- Prepare quality reports, checklists, and final project documentation
- Promote strong quality culture across site teams and subcontractors
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
- 2+ years’ experience in QA/QC within construction projects
- Strong understanding of BCAR procedures and construction compliance
- Background working with a building contractor or similar environment
- Knowledge of ISO quality standards and inspection systems
- Strong documentation management and organisational skills
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams
- Irish or UK construction experience highly advantageous
