We are seeking an Associate Director for Highways and Active Travel to join an esteemed Infrastructure team at their Cork or Dublin offices. With a minimum of 15 years of experience, the successful candidate will become part of a well-established company, gaining exposure to diverse projects such as national roads, greenway and active travel initiatives, and major highways design and build schemes. This role provides a clear career development path leading to a Director position.Responsibilities: * Lead multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
  • Manage a project portfolio, maintaining client relationships and communications.
  • Mentor and manage junior Project Managers within the Highways and Active Travel Sector.
  • Supervise and mentor senior and junior staff within the same sector.
  • Plan and manage design work, collaborating closely with Engineering Discipline Leads and Technicians.
  • Prepare technical reports and tender documents.
  • Coordinate work with other project and infrastructure team members.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance, management systems, and relevant health and safety legislation.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with Chartered Engineer status.
  • 15 years post-graduate experience in highways, greenway, and active travel scheme design and project management.
  • Experience in delivering design and build projects is advantageous.
  • Proficient in multi-disciplinary design management.
  • Strong client engagement, stakeholder interaction, and budget management skills.
  • High-energy professional with excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Flexibility, teamwork, and initiative are essential.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings.
  • Full Drivers Licence.
