  • Lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality nursing care to all patients within the Emergency Department.
  • Collaborate with senior nursing leadership and the Emergency Department consultant team to develop, implement, and continuously improve nursing strategy and service delivery.
  • Provide strong clinical and managerial leadership to enhance nursing practices, staff education, and overall patient care standards.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and external healthcare providers.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance, clinical effectiveness measures, and professional standards in line with regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversee workforce planning, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, skill mix, and cost-effective use of resources, including agency and bank staff.
  • Manage operational activities, including incident reporting, complaint resolution, health and safety compliance, and interdepartmental coordination.
  • Monitor departmental performance, including service plans and budgets, and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Lead human resource functions such as recruitment, staff development, performance appraisal, roster management, and disciplinary processes.
  • Support service development, patient flow, and administrative functions, ensuring efficient patient registration, discharge processes, follow-ups, and high standards of customer service.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with current or eligible registration with NMBI.
  • Relevant post-registration qualification in Emergency Nursing.
  • Management qualification is desirable.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in an acute Emergency Care setting within the last 5–7 years.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in implementing change and developing clinical practice in emergency care.
  • Strong experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
