- Leading the orthopaedic inpatient & outpatient service, achieving associated KPI’s with this service and contributing to its growth and development.
- Maintaining a daily orthopaedic inpatient and outpatient caseload.
- Responsible for maintaining an inpatient orthopaedic caseload including partaking in pre-assessment clinic for joint and spinal patients.
- Work with Orthopaedic Consultants/Registrars in outpatient clinics as part of the multidisciplinary team. This involves assessment, treatment, and triage of musculoskeletal/ orthopaedic patients in the conservative, pre-operative and post-surgical setting.
- Triaging, assessing, treating, and onward referring as appropriate, patients who attend fracture clinic.
- Hold a degree in physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification recognized by the physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU
- Be registered on the physiotherapists register maintained by the physiotherapist’s registration board at CORU and be a member of or eligible for membership of The Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
- Have a proven record of clinical experience in orthopaedic physiotherapy and must hold a minimum of 5 years full time experience in the required area of physiotherapy.
- Candidate must demonstrate relevant musculoskeletal and inpatient orthopaedic physiotherapy continuing professional development and it is desirable to be in the process of completing or have completed a relevant post graduate qualification at master’s level or higher from an accredited institution.
- Candidates must demonstrate achievement in the areas of clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching, and research.
- Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the role.
- Work with the physiotherapy manager in ensuring the coordination, development and delivery of a quality, client centered physiotherapy service.
