
Hydrologist/Water Resources Manager

- Hydrological analysis encompasses flow estimation through statistical techniques, regionalised methods, and rainfall-runoff modelling, as well as low flow analysis
- Experience of working for a private sector consultancy is a requirement, as is experience of undertaking business development, client engagement, proposal and tender writing and winning and delivering won work
- Interpretation of hydrological data and water resources information
- Conducting hydrometric fieldwork, catchment walkovers, and reviewing third-party data
- Reporting and communication of hydrological and water resources issues, outcomes and recommendations
- Programming in packages such as R and Python
- Developing tools, methods and processes to automate and standardize hydrological analysis
- Water resource modelling using appropriate water resource packages (e.g. using Pywr or Aquator) to estimate yield and deployable output, and to support wider environmental assessment
- Analysis of hydrological data and hydro ecological literature/guidance to assess the environmental and ecological effects of water resource pressures
- Contribute to water resources planning processes
- Assessing the impacts of climate change on water resource availability
- Experience of working for a private sector consultancy is a requirement, as is experience of undertaking business development, client engagement, proposal and tender writing and winning and delivering won work
- You will be a hydrologist with a water resource focus qualified to at least FETAC Level 7, preferably Level 9 or 10, and will have relevant work experience and likely to be chartered or have achieved Fellow status through CIWEM or another relevant professional body
- The ideal candidate will have familiarity of working with and in, and the nature of, catchments and hydrology in Ireland
