Barden are excited to be working with a growing Irish-owned insurance firm as they look to build out their underwriting team in Dublin. This person will be responsible for managing a commercial portfolio of both direct and broker accounts; handling products such as property, liability, and commercial products.Note: this role is hybrid - 2 days working in the office and 3 days from home.About the Role:

Manage diverse commercial portfolio encompassing direct and broker accounts, ensuring optimal performance and profitability.
Conduct comprehensive analysis of policy portfolios for both direct and broker clients, including pricing assessment and coverage optimization.
Uphold rigorous documentation standards, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, authority levels, and regulatory requirements through meticulous file management and successful audits.
Provide comprehensive underwriting training and mentorship to team members, fostering a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitor landscape, and effective relationship management.
Play a pivotal role in the day-to-day management of Property, Liability, and Commercial Combined portfolios, facilitating mid-term adjustments, account management, and proactive risk assessment for both direct and broker accounts.

About the Person:

Previous experience in an underwriting position, with strong technical focus (preferred).
Professional insurance qualification (APA essential, CIP preferred).
Proven strong communication and organisation skills.
Passionate about relationship-building with clients and willingness to improve and learn.
